PD40-S High Voltage Plasma Driver — 40 Watt max output with Scripting/Modulation

The PD40-S is a high frequency, high voltage power supply intended for use with various devices including “plasma tubes”, “plasma globes”, “neon tubing” and other vessels intended for electrical discharges which require a “single wire” output to feed them. The Plasma Driver provides ‘scripting’ which is essentially an automatic, cyclical variation of the output power which causes the plasma to change in size or character.  Due to the resonant nature of the transformer, the voltage gain is frequency-dependent and so the output power can be controlled by the driving frequency, a technique known as Frequency Modulation (FM).  The scripting function can also be disabled if a steady but adjustable output is desired.  The maximum output voltage is 10kVAC peak and maximum output power is 40W.
